Wednesday

he makes my day every single day!

i promise, he owns more than white.

it seems all he wears is white these days.

i promise he has clothes (tons) that aren't white

i am going to try to hit up the park today. it's so warm out it's hard to believe it's only february!

Monday

still alive.

haven't updated in awhile. a lot going on right now. ashton is doing great. he is a different baby every morning. he looooves to smile and goof off during his morning feeding. which i secretly love even though i am starving to eat my own breakfast. he is very strict with his own set routine. i am blessed to have a baby who knows the difference between night and day. however, i am not used to him wanting to be put to bed so early. if we are not home and rocking him to sleep by 7:30pm he will throw the biggest fit where ever we are (like this last saturday when we were at lowes trying to appliance shop. wooowee that was a rought night). we used to think it was his "fussy period", really it's the "PUT ME TO BED, YOU STUPID PEOPLE" period. which means grocery shopping is a pain in the butt since i haven't nerved up to go grocery shopping by myself during the day. perhaps when my babyhawk finally gets here. i was given the ok to start working out again last week. like i have time HA.

today i played around with my 85mm lens during his bouncer time.

mr.blue?

blue eyes are a bit exaggerated. the picture was overexposed, making his eyes lighter and appear more blue than they normally are. currently, his eyes are more of a light gray/deep blue combo.

yay for smiles

he laughs and smiles a lot now.

he's going to be an outdoorsy type

Wednesday

it's starting to feel normal around here...

how did that happen?! day two i have been able to take a shower (with no one here but me and ashton). day two of me getting PLENTY of sleep. day two of being able to eat. day two at getting things done. and i mean DONE. i made our bed for the first time in six weeks. SIX WEEKS people! today i decided to finally pick up my camera and take some pictures of baby ashton on my nice, clean, made bed. it was wonderful. not only that, but breastfeeding is officially EASY! i have been working really hard on new nursing positions, getting over my fear of breastfeeding in public, and breastfeeding in bed so i can get more sleep (and guess what. it works!).

people tell you the first six weeks are the hardest. now i haven't gone past six weeks but it's held true so far. everything has a normal feeling now. it's really strange. now if i could only get this baby wearing down, find a nursing top that is actually comfortable/covers my stomach, and my fear of driving alone with ashton and i will be set!  i have to go to my 6week post partum appointment tomorrow so that means i will face my fear of driving alone with ashton whether i like it or not (eek). i might as well test drive it today right? ha. ashton has also started smiling tons while making eye contact with me. it melts my heart every single time he does it.

now on to some super cute pictures of my super cute boy (biased of course).

Tuesday

it's a good time to be a first time home buyer

$8000 tax credit. hello! loving the new stimulus plan.

makes me feel better for waiting so long to get a house ha!

my mother has me worried sick something will happen and our deal will fall through though. (thanks mom!) lol. i am trying to stay positive though. we have the loan. the cash. and they accepted our offer. it looks good but darn it. the closing date couldn't come fast enough.

we took my mother to the house on sunday for a walk through before her flight back to denver. the first time david and i walked through the house we were sooo smitten with our first choice we didn't really give the house a good look. i must say I LOVE OUR NEW HOUSE! love it! sure the carpet needs to be replaced and some other things but it's such a beautiful nice home. and i can't wait to live in it! i can't believe we are going to be real homeowners. it feels so surreal. here are more pictures i took of the house. the quality isn't that great since we were in a hurry (my mom had a flight to catch) and the electricity wasn't turned on so i had to use horrible direct flash and my camera had a hard time focusing in the low light with the kit lens. ha. the house has great natural lighting when the blinds are open though.

my sweet valentine

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

so i had something really special planned out for pictures with ashton on valentines day. however, thanks to the fact my diaper covers have YET to even arrive and ashton's umbilical cord is still attached (wth?!) i have decide to delay it. instead i give you this.

my sweet valentine

ashton has been doing really great lately. of course my mother is here and makes life 110% easier for me. ha. i have learned to nurse in bed lying down so i can sleep more. it's been easier but again my mom is here so i think that has a lot to do with it. we will see if things stay that way once she is gone (tomorrow. :o( ). my mother is so generous i have no idea how i will ever repay her.

tummy time

working on that tummy time!

<3 baby feet

we love our bugaboo!

we love our bugaboo stroller. ashton has finally learned to love it as much as we do.

Thursday

2009 is a year filllllled with changes.

we just bought our first house! we had fallen in love with a huge beautiful new home but as soon as we were going to make an offer we were told that someone else's offer had already been accepted. so we decided to make an offer on our second choice home (which was/is a foreclosure). today we were told they accepted our offer! closing date will be march 20th (but we hope sooner). my mom is town visiting and we went to look at the house again (before we knew the house was ours!) we met our neighbors who are awesome! i can't wait to live there. here are some pictures from the MLS website.

Monday

our little squirt[er]

little squirt
i am going to start taking "outfit" pictures of ashton in all of his cute little outfits. i invested enough in them might as well do something so i can always remember how handsome he looked in all of his cute little clothes.

david got this onesie for him after realizing ashton loves to pee on him. he is our little squirt.

by the way, just for the record. ashton had a major growth spurt on friday and it was by far the hardest day of my life! saturday happened to be the easiest day with him. we actually went places from 2pm till 9pm and survived (and i breast fed in public!). sunday was a bit more neutral. with some bad moments and good moments. we went house hunting. david is determined to get out of this tiny apartment in the next few months. we found a house we love but i have a feeling it's too good to be true. i'm not holding my breath. david plans on making an offer in the next few days. prayers and good thoughts would be appreciated as we really want this house. :o) ashton also has baby acne all over his cute face :o(. he has had baby acne from birth but it was over his body and limbs. not face. i hope it goes away soon.

Thursday

when changing diapers at 4am ends up being exciting.

david installed a large mirror right next to ashton's changing area last night. i figured it would be a month or two before ashton would even notice it. imagine my shock at 4am this morning when he started laughing at himself in the mirror during a diaper change. he loves that mirror. i caught him this afternoon doing the same thing. happy one month birthday sweet ashton! i can't believe it's been a month!

loving the new mirror

he laughs.

he sure is a happy baby!

Tuesday
