2/365 ::: out

because mandy thinks i should be blogging my project365 no matter how cruddy the pictures turn out. :o)

2/365 ::: out

i didn't have much time to take a picture of ashton today. by the time i remembered i needed one for project365 ashton was already asleep for bed (david rocks him before putting him to bed). my flash was out of batteries and the sun was setting (=not a lot of natural light in the house) so i had to up the ISO and use a slow shutter speed (something i rarely, if ever, do). which brings down the quality of the image (why it looks so blurry/not as sharp like my other pictures). i also didn't utilize the full potential of my lens. i stopped at f/3.2 when i could (should) have opened wide at f/1.4. shame really. it would have been a better quality picture! live and learn.

Tuesday

this boy cracks me up!

almost rolling over!!

rolling over

larger.

i don't know what it is about the bars of his activity gym but he does this ALL the time. yesterday i found out he had pulled out the bar with the built in toys on it (side bar). someone (who shall remain nameless but we all know who it is) didn't screw it in very well when they put it together. he had the stick in his mouth. thankfully the person (who shall not be named) fixed it for good (i checked) and he was able to go back to his stick eating ways..... safely.

Monday

playing catch up.

i am so behind in my life. i'm behind on my blog, photography, cleaning (although all caught up with laundry), myself, you name it. i don't know why i am having such a hard time getting things together lately....

maybe i am just being too hard on myself. anyhoo.

how many of you have given your little one a toy that was not in their age group? i wasn't expecting ashton to really notice a toy meant for 6months and up but sure enough, it's his favorite toy by far.

his favorite toy

for valentines i had this great idea i was going to do with ashton. the problem was on valentines day ashton still had his umbilical cord and my diaper covers hadn't come in yet. by the time the cord fell off and i received my covers we were moving into a new house. lol. i finally had time to do our official valentine pictures during my mothers visit last week.

i also attempted to take some naked chunky monkey pictures. unfortunately ashton was not having any of it. my mom and i had a great laugh though.

fail

this was the best out of about 100 pictures. i should have done this when he was a newborn.

i just can't get enough of him!

more pictures to come. we had quite the eventful weekend.

my first mother's day...

after debating for months, i have decided that i am going to sell my 85mm lens. oh how i love the lens. i wish i could keep it. unfortunately, i really need a sharp zoom lens and my kit lens (the only zoom i own) is not cutting it when compared to my 50mm prime lens. i am listing it on ebay tomorrow. i hope it sells quickly. it's the only way i will be able to afford a new lens. just to show you how much a difference it makes with different lenses:

also if you own lightroom. becoming-mom has made her own presets and is giving them away for free. all you have to do is have a flickr account and join her group. i played around with some of them this evening:

becomingmom - before & after

i love lightroom. i love making my own presets. i made this one a few days ago. i named it, "cotton candy".
